Today we are going to be talking about one of our more popular items. The Ford Thunder HT Starter. These starters are now available for automatic and manual transmission with 157 tooth. They come brand new not rebuilt from Procomp Electronics. We know that everything is hit and miss when it comes to this company being that many parts are made over seas but here at APSracingUSA.com we try and find the well made parts and supply them to our customers. On these HT starters alone we have only now had one return out of over 100 sold. The Pro Thunder Starter features all new components beginning with a three horsepower motor.This power is used to crank over the reduced 4.4:1 gear set to deliver great torque to the engine’s ring gear to get the engine turning.
The armature is balanced during assembly and is guided by two ball bearings for smooth engagement and thousands of starts. The downsized housing clears most headers and oil pans, but just in case, we made the billet mount so it can be clocked (3/4) in different positions to help in tight applications.
The assembly is anodized BLUE and will stay looking good. The Pro Thunder Starter also features a billet aluminum mounting block that can be positioned in different locations to help clear suspension parts, the oil pan and exhaust systems.

These starters are made for stock application for the years 1965 to 1974 and will work on engines (289 302 and 351W) we have had customers make them work on 460's but we do not recommend it or guarantee it.
